BOOK CAMPAIGN FOR JABONGA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL-Resurrected

Hello fellow Jabonganons!

I happened visit our school last time I went home. Tagmingaw ra ako sa ato school sanan sa ato mga high school teachers. Naglibot-libot ako didto, looking for familiar faces, and waya ako madisappoint. I met Maam Felix, Maam Grace Morales (waya na ako mahibayo nan ija apelido kuman) and of course, Maam Marilag. I talked to them, reminiscing and catching up, recalling names. Basta arang ka nostalgic.

I was invited at the library to see the condition of our donated tables and shelves. Jaon pa man, but what saddened me was the empty shelves, kay waya nay mga libro. According kan maam, tag pull out na nila an mga textbooks, amo na nugamay na an suyod. Gamay rakan na mga reference books an nabilin. But good thing is, naka Dewey Decimal Classification na an mga books, which is a good start, kay natagaw ako when I went to college  kon unhon paghanap nan libro.  Hopefully, ma catalogue na sab nila. Bisan kinaraan ok ra. Kay sa iban na mga modern libraries, computerized na man an pag catalogue. Hehehe

Here we are again. Mangajo nasad ako nan ijo support for book donations! I dream na mapuno nato nan books an library, so that our students will be encouraged to visit the library and read.

By the way, during my talk with Maam Marilag, I was alarmed by the conditions of our students, particularly on reading. I was teary-eyed to learn na mahamok na students ta an poor sa proficiency in reading. Imagine, there are students in grade 7 who don't know the alphabet. Well, this is not to demean the school, but a wake-up call to everyone of this alarming problem. And we can work hand-in-hand for help. Basta, I won’t give details, but if you have time, and I HOPE YOU WILL FIND ONE, bisitahi an ato school para mahibayuan nato an condition nan ato beloved alma mater.

Kay kon waya ini nato na school, dili man sab kita mahimo nan singod nan ini!

I followed this route when I went home to Mindanao (Jabonga, Agusan Del Norte) from Bacolod last Dec. 18, 2016. I had some options but I preferred this route because I believe it was more feasible, which I proved correct.

Well, tag post ko ini nako na trip kay first time ko magtravel na amo kalajo. I thought it was impossible to travel, esp kay gamay ra man an ako taggamit na car. Pero nakaya man, with the grace and guidance of the Lord.

By the way mga ka-Jabonganons, ako ra ini isa an driver. Kon may karelibo ako pagdrive, pwede gajod makadiritso pagbiyahe. Another, pls anticipate in your travel the queue, esp at Ozamiz-Mukas. The port was so congested (esp it was Christmas season) and we spent almost 5 hours in queuing. Someone suggested that we better take the Tangub-Tubod Roro route.
